Cultivating Joy

Cultivating Joy

Today, on Gems of Wisdom, we are Cultivating Joy with special guest Spiritual Director Lauren Santerre, from Houston Texas.

Lauren seeks to inspire others to live passionate, authentic, joyful lives every day. She loves spending time with God, listening deeply to others, and pondering the mysteries of life. She is grateful for her family, her friends, and the amazing opportunities she has had in her life. On the lighter side she enjoys most anything that sparkles, great handbags, fine china, cute puppies, smiling babies, dark chocolate, and a great movie on a Friday night!

Lauren’s career in Spiritual direction supports her focus on building and strengthening communities. She invites you to become a part of it.

“You are welcome in spiritual direction at any time during your life and at any point on your spiritual journey. One part of the spiritual life, however, is how we find community. So it will be a question that your director most likely asks you is where and how you find places of community that nourish your spirit. Community can come in many different forms, however, so if you are interested in spiritual direction but are not religious…try it out!”

Do you focus where you are going or what you want to achieve more than expressing gratitude for what you have in the present moment?

Her point of view can help you if you:

  • find yourself constantly struggling to be satisfied
  • continually look at what you do not have in your life right now
  • want to be in a different place than you are right now.

Lauren knows from her Spiritual direction practice that many of us find living in the present challenging. Today Lauren will teach you 3 action steps to cultivate joy that she developed for immediate results.

Her Gem of Wisdom for us is:

As I get older in years, I am learning how to embrace my imperfections, laugh more, and love big. I hope you will join me on this remarkable journey of life.”
